At Select College Admissions, we meet with students one-on-one to help them plan a path which allows them to explore interests and meet goals. We check that they fulfill their high school graduation requirements and any prerequisites mandated for entry into their major of choice at university. We encourage students to accelerate their studies in their areas of strength in order to be competitive for university programs in engineering, pre-med, business and other subject areas.

We are familiar with the IB Diploma Programme and the AP Capstone Program, advising our students on their sequence of courses as well as weighing in on their Capstone Research or their Extended Essay. Students are encouraged to come in during February with their course selection sheets to explore their best options and plan a balanced and manageable course list with our guidance.

Academic enrichment for students is designed to challenge and engage them in a meaningful way, help them further develop their kills and knowledge, and to encourage them to pursue their interests. Academic enrichment can take various forms:

  • advanced courses (honors or AP courses),
  • concurrent studies where a student might enroll in a course at UBC or elsewhere, including online,
  • working closely with a tutor or mentor to gain a deeper understanding of a subject of interest,
  • summer programs which focus on a specific academic subject or area of interest,
  • research opportunities or internships which may provide practical experience in a field the students is considering to pursue in the future,
  • independent study or project undertaken to delve deeply into a subject area of interest.
