Select College Admissions offers the convenience of online consulting to families in North America and overseas who value education and wish to have their children attend universities in the United States, Canada or the U.K. While we operate through our offices in the Greater Vancouver Area (in British Columbia – Canada) our services transcend geographical boundaries. Every academic year, we work with students from the United States, Canadian provinces, and with international students living overseas (China, Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, Cayman Islands, and S. America) via live online tools and other collaborative networks. Our overseas students particularly enjoy the one-on-one customized support we offer – including referrals to online tutors.
Because of busy schedules or long distances, we frequently work with students via video-conferencing technology, allowing us to talk face-to-face, share screens, collaborate on documents and essays, plan calendars, and conduct university research in real time. Some students choose to work exclusively via video-conferencing, while local students combine in-person meetings with the convenience of online meetings.
Logistics of Online Sessions:
• Online sessions are conducted with video-conferencing software that has advanced features.
• The software provides an experience similar to a face-to-face seminar, allowing student and consultant to see, speak, and text-chat with each other online.
• The consultant may choose to share computer screen content with students so they can view PowerPoint presentations, videos, and other multimedia tools during the lesson.
• As well, students can share their computer screen content with the consultant.
• If parent and student are at different locations and wish to meet with the consultant at the same time, the system can accommodate multiple participants.
