As a comprehensive university counseling practice, Select College Admissions strives to meet the varied needs of the students we work with. Our interaction begins with a University Readiness Review. Step one after the initial meeting is to draw up an academic plan. Next, we introduce strategies for reaching higher academic and extracurricular goals as well as gaining leadership skills while setting a timeline for each student – which will include standardized test preparation for US-bound candidates. Through personality, learning style, and career interest assessments which lead to self-discovery, we help our students narrow down their potential areas of focus and career options. At the end of grade 11, we have our Milestone Meeting with the student and family in which we make some important decisions. We then provide each family with a personalized action plan which includes a university comparative chart with the final selection of ‘good fit’ universities and deadlines to adhere to. Finally, we guide students to articulate their story through crafting meaningful personal essays and quality applications, empowering them to take ownership of what will be a life-changing process as they transition to university and adult life.
